Overview


Based within our rapidly growing branch in our Wokingham depot, the Hire Desk Controller plays a critical role at the heart of our operations, sitting on the front line of sales and customer service. Relationship building is fundamental to success in this role, as you will coordinate the entire hire process from order placement through to delivery and collection. You will work closely with all areas of the depot to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently and that service standards remain consistently high.

On a day-to-day basis, you will act as the central point of contact for customers and internal teams, managing incoming hire enquiries, processing orders accurately, and ensuring all hire documentation is completed correctly. You will coordinate delivery and collection schedules, monitor equipment availability, and proactively resolve any issues that could impact service levels.

You will regularly liaise with the transport team to confirm logistics, with the stock and yard teams to check equipment readiness, and with engineers to ensure equipment is serviced, compliant and fit for hire. You will update internal systems in real time, maintaining accurate records of hire contracts, pricing, extensions, off-hires and returns.

You will also support the depot's commercial performance by maximising utilisation of equipment, identifying opportunities to up-sell or cross-sell, and ensuring pricing and margins are protected in line with company guidelines.

In addition, you will handle queries, complaints and service issues efficiently and professionally, escalating where required and ensuring timely resolution. You will work closely with colleagues to continuously improve processes, service standards and customer satisfaction, contributing positively to the overall performance and culture of the depot.

Previous experience within the hire industry

Ideally have good knowledge of Syrinx Hire Package.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 30,000.00-35,000.00 per year
