Role Overview

While your prime role is driving (carrying out deliveries and collections of plant and equipment throughout the East Midlands region) it also includes some maintenance and repair work along with yard and storage duties when required.

At present our vehicle fleet is 4wd pickups and 3.5t dropside pick ups with trailers and it is essential that you have experience and are fully proficient in towing. There will be opportunity to progress to HGV in due course.

As in any dynamic team, you are required to fulfil these varied roles safely and with initiative. It is heavy work and includes loading and unloading of equipment at the premises, on site and where required into customers' vehicles. Accuracy is an essential part of this work.

Although primarily based at the Lincoln depot workshop (Mon - Fri, 0700 - 1700) occasional site visits may be required with flexible working hours.

Key Responsibilities

Ability to carry out transport duties to and from site with accountability and accuracy for equipment under your care

Loading/Unloading of equipment and plant with accurate record keeping

Routine vehicle and trailer checks

Assist with maintenance and repair of plant & equipment as required

Assist with other day-to-day operations of the depot as directed

Required Experience/Qualifications

Prior experience in the Plant & Tool Hire industry is preferred but not essential

Practical knowledge of maintaining power tools & small plant is essential

Full UK driving license with good geographical aptitude

It is ESSENTIAL that you have experience and are proficient with towing trailers

Basic IT skills
