Plasma Cutter Operator

to join our workshop team and operate our

Hypertherm XPR 300 plasma cutting system

.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and maintain the Hypertherm XPR 300 CNC plasma cutter to produce accurate parts from plate and sheet materials. Read and interpret technical drawings and cutting lists. Set up cutting jobs, optimise nesting layouts, and monitor cutting quality. Carry out routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues. Work closely with the fabrication and engineering teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Follow health & safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised work area.
Requirements

Previous experience operating CNC plasma cutting equipment (experience with Hypertherm XPR systems preferred). Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances. Basic computer and CNC control skills. A proactive, team-focused approach with good communication skills.
Desirable

Experience in steel fabrication and manufacturing. Forklift licence or overhead crane experience. Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for nesting optimisation.
