We are seeking a skilled and reliable Plasterer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying plaster to interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet project specifications. Duties
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying necessary primers or bonding agents.
Mix plaster to the correct consistency using hand tools or power mixers.
Apply plaster smoothly and evenly to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using trowels and hawks.
Utilise bricklaying, masonry, and carpentry skills as required for specialised applications or repairs.
Operate power tools safely for cutting, mixing, or finishing plaster materials.
Install lath or mesh as reinforcement where necessary before plastering.
Perform repairs on existing plasterwork, ensuring seamless integration with surrounding surfaces.
Follow health and safety regulations diligently, including the safe use of roofing and welding equipment when applicable.
Collaborate with other trades such as roofing or welding teams on multi-disciplinary projects.
Skills
Proficiency with hand tools such as trowels, hawks, and spatulas.
Experience in bricklaying and masonry techniques for specialised plaster applications.
Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively.
Strong knowledge of carpentry principles relevant to surface preparation and finishing.
Familiarity with roofing techniques that may impact external plasterwork or renderings.
Welding skills are advantageous for structural repairs or specialised finishes.
Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
