Plastering Works Description - Patch Repairs Following Damp Treatment

Following the completion of damp-remediation works, the exposed brickwork areas throughout the room require full plaster patch repairs using a damp-resistant specification. All loose and defective plaster has already been removed, and the brick substrate is ready for treatment.

Scope of Works

Preparation

Brush down all exposed brickwork to remove remaining dust and debris. Ensure all damp-treated surfaces are fully cured and suitable for reinstatement. Mask and protect surrounding flooring, sockets, and woodwork. Base Coat - Dryzone Fast Set Renovation Plaster (20kg bags) Apply Dryzone Fast Set Renovation Plaster as the primary backing coat to all exposed brick areas. Mix and install to manufacturer's specification to provide a salt-resistant, damp-control plaster base. Build out the backing coat to match the existing wall thickness and achieve a level, consistent finish across all patched sections. Allow appropriate setting time before applying the finish coat. Finish Coat - Thistle MultiFinish Plaster Once the Dryzone base coat has fully set, apply a tight, smooth skim coat of Thistle MultiFinish across all repaired areas. Blend edges into the existing plaster to achieve a seamless finish with no visible transition lines. Ensure the surface is trowelled to a paint-ready standard. Final Checks All plastered areas to be left smooth, uniform and fully feathered into surrounding walls. Remove all waste materials created during the plastering process and leave the area clean and tidy.

Outcome

All brick-exposed sections will be reinstated with a damp-resistant plaster system, providing a durable backing coat and a smooth finish coat, ready for future decoration once fully cured.
