We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plasterer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be mobile with a driving licence, have experience in applying plaster to walls and ceilings, ensuring a smooth and even finish. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Plasterer will be responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing plaster, and applying it using various techniques. Rendering experience is also required and the job involves damp proofing techniques with other general skills. The position is long term permanent with benefits and training. Will require travelling and also involves responsibility as mentor work to labourer and apprentices required and 100 percent work quality as guarantees are given on damp works so an eye for detail and high finish with cleanliness is essential and expected.
Responsibilities
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, repairing, and ensuring they are ready for plaster application or damp treatment.
Mix plaster according to specifications for optimal consistency and performance. Loft and basement preservation treatments .
Apply plaster to walls and ceilings using trowels, floats, or other tools to achieve a smooth finish.
Work with other tradespeople such as carpenters to ensure seamless integration of plasterwork with other construction elements.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, ensuring safety standards are met.
Perform repairs on existing plasterwork as needed, including patching holes or cracks. Injection work , basic spray treatment, Tanking, dpm attachment, cellar systems.
Follow health and safety regulations at all times while on site. Politeness at all times to customers working with them to over come there damp/ mold and problematic issues .
Skills
Proficiency in masonry techniques and knowledge of damp and rendering is advantageous.
Ability to use power tools and hand tools effectively for various tasks related to plastering.
Experience in roofing and joinery work may be beneficial for certain projects requiring structural support.
Strong attention to detail with an eye for achieving high-quality finishes.
Good physical stamina and the ability to work at heights if required (e.g., on roofs).
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients.
