Job Overview

We are seeking a self employed plasterers mate/general builder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have related construction skills. This role involves working on various projects, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to safety standards. You will work closely with other our plasterer and other tradespeople to deliver exceptional results. split role mostly prepping rooms to plaster, dabbing ,bonding etc, also some general building. This would be a ideal role for someone who is already good at or interested in furthering there plastering skills. Currently we are doing a new build, extension and barn conversion so a good range of different types of jobs.

Duties

Apply plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces to create a smooth finish. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying bonding agents as necessary. Mix plaster and other materials according to specifications for optimal application. Repair damaged plasterwork and ensure all finishes meet quality standards. Collaborate with bricklayers and masons to integrate plastering with structural elements. Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order for safe operation. Follow health and safety regulations at all times while on-site.

Skills

Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to plastering tasks. Experience in bricklaying and masonry techniques is advantageous. Basic carpentry skills to assist with related tasks as required. Knowledge of roofing practices may be beneficial for specific projects. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and clients.
