An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Plastering Manager to join our Direct Services team in the North West.
The overall purpose of the role is to manage the day-to-day operations of all plastering works delivered by Seddon Direct Services (SDS). The Plastering Manager is responsible for ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery, with a strong focus on quality control, budgeting, cost management, people management and health and safety compliance across all projects.

What you'll do:
Ensure all company & department health and safety requirements are complied with.
Develop trade specific risk assessments and method statements ensuring they are maintained and complied with.
To attend weekly subcontractor and site meetings.
Coordinate all resource efficiently to ensure site programmes are achieved.
Provide effective measurement of commercial performance of internal and external operatives whilst complying with Seddon guidelines.
Liaise with relevant Contracts and Site Managers to ensure their interests are being fulfilled and build key relationships and support delivery teams with a consistent service for all plastering operations.
Liaise with SDS Quantity Surveyor to ensure profitability of relevant packages.
Guide and provide technical support to all operatives within the plastering team.
Ensure internal and external supply chain deliver a safe, quality, time bound and value for money product
Liaise with Health & Safety, Transport, Training, HR, Estimating Departments and Supply Chain Manager promoting continuous improvement.
Liaise with Training and Health & Safety Departments to ensure in-house operatives' training is specific, up to date and project specific.
Carry out quality and safety audits using R Drive system to measure and monitor compliance.
Liaise with HR Department keeping up to date with current and future Employment Law issues and regulations.
Performance development, employee management and recruitment (both internal and subcontractors).
Authorise subcontractor orders and paperwork, ensuring services offered are both competitive and value for money.
Have you got what it takes:
Full UK Driving Licence
Minimum 5 years practical experience in building/construction environment
Trade experience / knowledge (preferably in plastering)
Good technical / construction background knowledge
People Management skills with a basic understanding of formal HR policies and procedures
Performance development including leading and motivating others
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels
Good negotiation skills
Managing conflict and ability to engage in challenging and difficult conversations
Proactive mindset
Ability to forward plan, identify potential problems provide solutions
Be self-motivated and able to work as part of a specialist team
Be analytical and have good problem-solving skills
