An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Play Assistant to work as part of the nursery team at St. Ninian's Primary School.



This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to enter into the profession and progress a career in childcare, gaining experience while being supported to gain a qualification.



As a Play Assistant you will assist in the provision of high quality play and lunchtime experiences within Early Learning and Childcare. This will involve contributing to the development, planning and implementation of appropriate experiences within a play/care curriculum before, during and after lunch time.

Skills & Experience Required

No entry qualifications are required, however you will be required and supported to work towards one of the qualifications below:


NC / HNC Early Education and Childcare SVQ Level 2 or / 3 in Social Services (Children & Young People).

You will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for Day Care of Children within 6 months of commencing employment and responsible for maintaining annual membership.



The successful candidate will be supported to access further training both award bearing and continued professional development.



This is an opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic person to come and join our small nursery team, where teamwork and a flexible approach is essential to ensure the smooth running of the Nursery particularly over the busy lunchtime period.



A friendly and approachable person who is able to build good relationships and be able to work with the children, staff and parents as St Ninian's.



Our Play Assistant should be able to work on their own initiative and be able to take on board and follow local and national advice around food hygiene, nutritional standards and practical guidance.
