Play Centre and Cafe Supervisor

About us:

Little Street is an award winning play centre for young children, themed as a miniature version of a typical town, inspiring children to explore life in the world around them. Open 7 days a week, our leisure facilities provide a fun and educational play environment.

The role:

We are currently looking to recruit a weekend Play Centre Supervisor for our centre in Riverhead (TN13). The hours are variable, with shifts between the hours of 09:00-18:00. Due to the nature of the business you must be willing to work weekends including during school holidays.

This is a role for shifts where a minimum of at least 1 weekend and 1 midweek day. Preference will be given to candidates who can both Saturday and Sunday. More shifts are available where staff cover is needed or during school holidays.

Key responsibilities:

Meeting and greeting customers.

Supervising more junior members of the team.

Taking food & drinks orders / making and serving hot drinks.

Overseeing play.

Dealing with customer enquiries / complaints.

Tidying and cleaning duties.

Stock control.

Cashing up.

Carrying out Health & Safety checks.

Preparing for and overseeing birthday parties.

Responsible for shift rota's and stock ordering in the Managers absence.

Trained as a first aider.

Skills & experience required:

Excellent customer service skills.

Enthusiastic about working with children.

Previous supervisory experience in a retail / leisure / hospitality environment.

Cash handling experience (currently we're taking card payments only).

Good IT skills.

Works well under pressure.

Ability to work alone as well as in a team.

Displays ability to use own initiative.

Responsible and reliable.

Previous experience working with children would be beneficial.

First aid trained ( a minimum of Emergency at work first aid training - if not trained, we can organise one for you)

Pay based on experience.

10.00-12.70 per hour
