SALARY: 27300 pro rata ( 17472 actual for 24 hrs per week)
Job Purpose: To develop and deliver engaging, accessible, and inclusive play session activities for children with additional needs and their families/carers, while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the centre. This role ensures high standards of service, safety, and engagement, while also contributing to the centre's promotional and fundraising activities.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Developing and Delivering Activities
Enthusiastically developing and delivering accessible and inclusive play session activities for children and their families/carers.
Contributing to the planning and delivery of fundraising events involving families.
Supporting the advertising and promotion of play sessions and charity events, using social media and/or attending events.
Day-to-Day Operations
Engaging positively with children and families using the centre to provide a caring, secure environment.
Overseeing the efficient day-to-day operation of the centre's activities for children and families.
Maintaining high standards of service in all areas of the centre (including but not limited to cleanliness, health & safety, safeguarding, housekeeping).
Checking and maintaining the centre, play areas and equipment, ensuring a safe standard and reporting any concerns.
Ensuring that all regular health and safety checks are completed, including the storage of medication, play equipment checks, and food hygiene checks.
Dealing with any customer service-related complaints in an appropriate and professional manner, escalating them as appropriate.
Working closely with the Operations Manager, feeding back, and applying a 'can do' attitude.
Team Leader
Directing, mentoring and providing support to play session staff and volunteers.
Provide supervision and guidance for Play Workers, including volunteers, ensuring they receive proper training, support, and direction to perform their duties effectively and maintain high standards of service and safety.
General Responsibilities:

Carrying out duties and responsibilities of the post at all times, in compliance with all SPACE policies and procedures.
Conduct all activities and operations in alignment with the charity's core values, mission, and principles, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
Attending training, meetings and completing any other reasonable duties and responsibilities, when requested, which are commensurate with this role.
