Are you a passionate, trauma-informed Play Therapist looking to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children?



Rothacs are delighted to have secured funding for the next three years from Children in Need for this work. We're looking for a qualified and experienced

Play Therapist

to join our team on a

sessional basis

to support children aged

4-12

who have experienced trauma, including abuse, neglect, and loss. This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated professional who wants to work flexibly while making a real difference.

About the Role:



Provide therapeutic play sessions to children referred to the service Work with trauma, attachment issues, and emotional regulation difficulties Maintain accurate records and contribute to multi-agency collaboration Offer 6 sessions of client-facing time per week (flexible scheduling).

What We're Looking For:



? Qualified Play Therapist with a recognised qualification

? Registered member of

BACP

(or equivalent body)

? Experience working with children under 13, particularly those with trauma backgrounds

? Excellent understanding of child development, trauma, and safeguarding

? Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)

? Self-employed with appropriate insurance and ability to invoice.

Desirable:



Training in approaches such as DDP, Theraplay, or EMDR for children Experience in multi-agency settings Access to your own therapeutic resources or a suitable space (depending on delivery model)
Client Group: Children under 13 with experiences of abuse.
