Friends at Play is seeking to recruiting a deputy manager following our recent expansion into an additional childcare setting.

Our family owned business is seeking to employ friendly and enthusiastic childcare practitioners to join our very popular wrap around care provision based around High Wycombe.

If you are looking for a new challenge and have experience of and an interest in working with children, particularly in a wraparound care, school environment or early years setting we would love to hear from you.

With working hours that would suit those looking for more flexibility in their days, those wishing to work around school times or additional supplementary work, we have opportunities to match.

For this role candidates must possess a minimum of an Early Years level 3 diploma or equivalent.

Experience of working with children is a must have!

Experience of working in a senior childcare role is desirable.

Experience of working alongside and implementing the Early year framework is also desirable

All other mandatory training can be provided.

start date January 2026

Hours of work: Monday-Thursday

After school club: 3:00-5:30/6:15 (term time)

More hours are available for the right candidate.

School holidays

8am - 5pm

February Half term

Easter holidays

May have term

3 weeks across the summer holidays

October half term

(we are closed across Christmas).

Pay is negotiable depending upon qualifications and experience.

Main duties include-

-Working as a part of a team.

-Communicating well with children, staff and parents.

-Supporting the day to day running of the clubs.

-Helping to set up and pack away.

-Helping to prepare snacks.

-Ensuring the children are in a safe nurturing environment.

-Contributing towards planning for adult lead activities.

-Ensuring all paperwork is up to date and in line with EYFS requirements.

-Supporting management of staff.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 14.00-18.00 per hour
