We are seeking a skilled and reliable Plumber. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems across various domestic and commercial sites across West Yorkshire and beyond. This role requires a strong understanding of plumbing principles, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to operate a range of hand and power tools. The ideal applicant will be physically fit, capable of heavy lifting, and possess excellent problem-solving skills to ensure the efficient functioning of plumbing infrastructure.
The successful candidate will have great customer service skill and an eye for details. The team works on a 'right first time' principle.
Duties
Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances in accordance with safety standards and building codes.
Use welding techniques where necessary to join metal components securely.
Operate hand tools such as spanner's, pipe cutters, and screwdrivers to complete tasks efficiently.
Utilise power tools for cutting, drilling, and assembling plumbing components.
Conduct inspections to identify faults or potential issues within plumbing systems.
Perform basic carpentry work related to plumbing installations or repairs.
Measure and calculate materials needed using basic maths skills for accurate fitting and installation.
Assist in the assembly of plumbing units or systems as required.
Carry out heavy lifting of pipes, fixtures, and equipment safely and effectively.
Maintain detailed records of work performed for client records or company documentation.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations at all times.
Experience
Proven experience working as a plumber in both commercial and residential settings is preferred.
Demonstrable skills in the use of hand tools are essential.
Familiarity with power tools, mechanical systems, and basic carpentry techniques is highly advantageous.
Knowledge of plumbing regulations (Water Supply Water Fittings Regulations 1999), safety standards, and best practices within the industry is required.
Experience with heavy lifting tasks and physical labour is necessary to meet job demands.
A valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving may be beneficial for site travel requirements. Must have up to date CSCS or similar
Must have proof of valid qualifications
Own transport desirable, but a van will be provided for the right candidate
Specialist tools provided: core drill, press tools etc.
The role is initially part time with the possibility of a full time position for the right candidate
Must be registered for CIS payments
DBS may be required (site specific)
Knowledge of RPZ valves (desirable)
