Plumber (Self-Employed)

Location: Sutton, Surrey & surrounding areas (within a 15-mile radius - excluding Central London)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

Contract Type: Full-time, self-employed

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Plumbing & Heating Engineer to join our team. You'll work on a variety of residential and small commercial projects, covering everything from planned and reactive maintenance to bathroom installations and heating system upgrades.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role ideal for a proactive individual who enjoys varied work. There are also opportunities to upskill, particularly in air conditioning and air-to-air heat pump installations.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out general plumbing repairs and maintenance Install and refurbish bathrooms, including suites and enclosures Complete first and second fix plumbing work Work on underfloor heating systems and hot water cylinders Handle planned maintenance and emergency callouts Undertake plumbing works on refurbishments, extensions, and small new builds Install radiators, immersion heaters, and unvented cylinders (preferred)
Essential Requirements

Minimum 5 years' plumbing experience Strong technical knowledge of domestic systems Full set of own tools and a suitable van (cars not accepted) Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently Proficiency with smartphones (to send job updates/photos via email) CIS registered Excellent communication and customer service skills Professional, flexible, and positive attitude Checkable references
Desirable (Not Essential)

Gas Safe registration G3 Unvented qualification Experience with boiler installations and breakdowns Basic building skills (e.g., stud walling, bath panels, minor electrics, plastering)
