About The Role




We are seeking experienced and qualified maintenance

Plumbers

to join our dynamic Engineering Maintenance team within the Infrastructure Directorate. This is a critical role supporting the ongoing safe and efficient operation of campus facilities.

As a Plumber, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of water and heating systems including hot and cold water distribution systems, statutory legionella controls, general plumbing, specialist water systems including demineralised/de-ionised, heating and cooling system pipework, waste systems, new installation works to water regs, TMVs, TRVs and more. You'll play a hands-on role while also collaborating with contractors, trainees, and wider Estates colleagues.

You'll be based across our Penryn and Falmouth campuses, working in both academic and student accommodation buildings. The role includes participation in the on-call rota and occasional support for events or emergency response (e.g. severe weather).

Key Responsibilities:



Undertake preventative and reactive plumbing maintenance Diagnose faults and resolve issues efficiently and to a high standard Provide advice and guidance to apprentices and colleagues Liaise with contractors and oversee safe delivery of heating and plumbing work Maintain accurate records of works undertaken Ensure all work complies with health and safety legislation and technical standards

About You




You will be a qualified plumber with a recognised Level 3 apprenticeship (or equivalent). You'll be confident working independently in a maintenance setting and capable of solving problems on complex systems and installations.

We're looking for someone with:

Recent experience in estates or facilities maintenance Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset A proactive, solution-oriented approach
It would also be desirable for the successful candidates to possess:

HNC in an Engineering discipline IPAF, PASMA or asbestos awareness training Experience in higher education or similar public sector environment Legionella Responsible Person status

There are two positions available, each offered on a 37.5 hour a week, full time, permanent contract working across Monday-Friday.
