Job Purpose:



To provide a high-quality, responsive, and safe plumbing service withinForth Valley Royal Hospital

, an acute care facility. The role involves deliveringPlanned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)

, responding toreactive repair works

, and ensuring compliance with statutory and NHS standards. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience working withThermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs)

and a good understanding of water hygiene systems.Healthcare experience

, particularly knowledge ofHAI-Scribe

, will be advantageous.



Key Responsibilities:



DeliverPlanned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)

on all plumbing systems and equipment, ensuring assets are maintained in line with compliance standards and operational requirements.

Carry outreactive plumbing maintenance

, including repair and replacement of pipework, sanitaryware, valves, and associated systems.

Service, maintain, and testThermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs)

in line with NHS Health Technical Memoranda (HTMs) and statutory guidance.

Support water safety protocols, includingtemperature monitoring, flushing regimes, and legionella prevention measures

in accordance with NHS and SHTM guidance.

Accurately complete all documentation related to PPM, reactive works, and statutory compliance using theCAFM system

.

Liaise effectively with Estates colleagues, contractors, and clinical staff to ensure minimal disruption to patient care. Work in strict adherence toinfection prevention and control procedures

, includingHAI-Scribe

documentation and best practices.

Undertake minor plumbing installations and assist in project works as directed. Ensure all work is completed in line with relevanthealth and safety legislation

, risk assessments, and COSHH regulations.

Participate inon-call rota or shift working

if required to support 24/7 service delivery.



Person Specification:



Essential:



Time-served plumbing apprenticeship and/or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent). Proven experience in plumbing maintenance within a large building or estate environment. Hands-on experience withTMV servicing, testing, and maintenance

.

Understanding oflegionella control

, water hygiene, and compliance requirements in accordance with HTM and SHTM guidance.

Competent in the use ofCAFM systems

and comfortable with digital reporting of maintenance activities.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plumbing schematics. Good communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to safe working practices.

Desirable:



Experience working in ahospital or healthcare environment

, ideally within NHS settings.

Familiarity withHAI-Scribe

infection control documentation and procedures.

Knowledge ofSHTM/HTM

standards relevant to healthcare plumbing systems.

Experience of working within theAgenda for Change framework

or understanding of NHS working practices.



Additional Information:



The postholder may be required to participate in anon-call rota

or shift system to support essential maintenance services outside core hours.

Appropriatetraining and development

will be provided, including updates on healthcare compliance, infection control, and water safety.
