Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of plumbing systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to perform various tasks related to installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems.

This role includes working within occupied properties for a variety of clients including housing associations, letting agents and private customers so good communication skills are required.

An ability to work from a PDA (personal digital assistant) and excellent communication skills are required for this position. A UK driving license is a necessity as our offices are based in Shepton Mallet but the candidate will be working in and around Somerset, Wiltshire, Bath & Bristol.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures in residential and commercial settings. Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for various plumbing tasks. Conduct soldering tasks as required for pipe joining and repairs. Perform assembly of plumbing components and systems according to specifications. Carry out carpentry work related to plumbing installations when necessary. Demonstrate knowledge to troubleshoot issues with plumbing systems efficiently. Apply skills for measuring, cutting, and fitting pipes accurately. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Drive commercial vehicles as required for transporting tools and materials to job sites.

Qualifications

Vocational qualification in plumbing studies (NVQ/SNVQ) Proven experience in plumbing or a related field is essential. Proficiency in using tools. The ability to diagnose problems effectively. Basic mathematical skills for accurate measurements and calculations. Experience in carpentry is an advantage but not mandatory. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with plumbing work. A valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving is preferred. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
