Role Summary

The Plumber is responsible for carrying out a wide range of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installations within Housing Association residential properties. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient water systems while providing high-quality service to tenants.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned and reactive plumbing repairs in residential properties. Install, repair, and maintain sinks, toilets, baths, showers, taps, pipework, traps, cylinders, tanks, and waste systems. Diagnose leaks, blockages, low-pressure issues, and general plumbing faults. Replace or repair hot and cold-water systems, valves, and fittings. Undertake repairs to drainage and soil systems (internal and external). Ensure all plumbing work complies with Building Regulations and Water Regulations. Record all work completed, materials used, and follow-up recommendations. Provide excellent customer service when attending tenant homes. Work collaboratively with other trades (gas engineers, electricians, carpenters). Maintain tools, equipment, and PPE to high standards. Follow strict health & safety and safeguarding procedures.

Skills & Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent trade qualification). Proven experience in domestic plumbing repairs, ideally within social housing. Strong understanding of water systems, pipework, and domestic plumbing fixtures. Ability to work independently, diagnose faults, and complete repairs safely. CSCS card (preferred). UK driving licence (typically required).

Pay: 31,000.00-39,000.00 per year
