Start your career in plumbing with real hands-on experience
We're looking for a Plumber's Assistant with some knowledge of plumbing and heating -- someone who's eager to learn, willing to get stuck in, and ready to hit the ground running.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract, perfect for someone with early experience or relevant training who's looking to build their practical skills in a supportive team. You'll be working alongside qualified plumbers, gaining real experience while helping us maintain the safety, comfort, and quality of the homes we manage.
What the role involves
You'll be supporting the team with day-to-day plumbing tasks, including:
Assisting with the installation of radiators and domestic pipework to help keep heating systems running smoothly
Helping with the repair, maintenance and fitting of plumbing and sanitaryware in both lived-in and empty homes
Following guidance around Legionella risks, and building your understanding of safe working practices as you go
Learning how to identify and use WRAS-approved products to keep plumbing works safe and compliant
Supporting the team on jobs involving larger diameter pipework (35mm & 42mm), when needed
Keeping workspaces tidy and safe, especially when working in customers' homes
Communicating clearly and professionally with residents, helping the team deliver a great service
Preparing work areas, gathering tools and materials, and anticipating what's needed to help each job run smoothly
Taking every opportunity to learn from qualified plumbers and grow your skills on the job

We know that a great start builds a strong future. That's why we give you the tools, support, and training to succeed in your role -- and to grow beyond it:
