The individual must be highly motivated, a good communicator and problem solver as well as a natural self-starter and team player. The overall responsibility of the Production Team Leader is to manage production and warehouse activities within the manufacturing site at Witham.

Duties will include:

1: Staff Management & Training

2: Performance

3: Maintenance of Quality STD's

4: Maintenance of Health and Safety STD's

5: Accountable for:

Machine Operators

Warehouse Operatives (Manufacturing)

FLT Drivers

Production Operatives

6: Any other reasonable duties as assigned by your Line Manager

1: Staff Management & Training

1.1 Induct, train and appraise staff.

1.2 Monitor absenteeism, review and take appropriate action inc disciplinary action if necessary. Submit all appropriate documentation to HR such as holiday and RTWQ forms.

1.3 Conduct disciplinary and grievance procedures where necessary.

1.4 Manage staff to deliver agreed levels of Quality, Performance, Safety and Service.

2: Performance

2.1 Ensure Short Interval Control (SIC) documents are completed in an accurate and timely manner.

2.2 Monitor SIC and take appropriate action.

2.3 Agree Daily/Weekly Plan and monitor.

2.4 Liaise with appropriate departments/colleagues to ensure all materials are available to adhere to Plans and take appropriate action to resolve issues.

2.5 Ensure issued plan is followed and any deviation from this is discussed and agreed with senior management.

2.6 Be accountable for targets set for Productivity, Efficiency and Customer Service.

2.7 Be accountable for control and management of Raw Material and Packaging Stock, its issue of, consumption of and the accuracy of data.

3: Maintenance of Quality STD's

3.1 Ensure all Quality Control documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

3.2 Ensure that training is delivered to meet Quality Control standards.

3.3 Highlight any Quality issues that occur to senior management and escalate to the Quality department.

4: Maintenance of Health and Safety STD's

4.1 Ensure that your work environment is kept clean and tidy.

4.2 Ensure that your team adhere to company dress standards for the factory environment.

4.3 Ensure proper storage and disposal of waste and recyclables.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Education and qualifications

Educated to GCSE std or greater preferably with further in-house or vocational training in food manufacturing practices and improvement methodology.

Skills and abilities

Team player with a flexible approach to a variety of duties.

Excellent communication skills.

Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft applications.

Good attention to detail.

Proactive i.e. ability to think and plan ahead.

Determination and drive.

People and performance management experience.

Familiar with a fast paced FMCG environment.

VFFS machines and Multihead weighers
