Job Description

The Practice Support Officer plays a key role in supporting the delivery and documentation of learning and development activities within the CDIO Chief Data Office. This role is primarily responsible for transcribing, compiling, and publishing learning materials from Data Week events, and assisting in the planning and coordination of future practice activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Transcription & Documentation
o Transcribe all learning content from Data Week 2024 and Data Week 2025, including presentations, workshops, and speaker sessions.
o Compile and format transcribed materials into accessible learning resources.
o Ensure all materials are uploaded and maintained on the Practice SharePoint site for learner access.
Content Management
o Organise and categorise learning materials to support easy navigation and retrieval.
o Collaborate with the Practice Manager to ensure content aligns with learning objectives and accessibility standards.
Practice Support
o Assist the Practice Manager in planning and coordinating Data Week and other practice-led activities.
o Support logistics, communications, and stakeholder engagement for learning events.
o Maintain records of attendance, feedback, and engagement metrics.
Continuous Improvement
o Identify opportunities to improve the transcription and publishing process.
o Contribute to the development of templates, guides, and best practices for learning content management.
Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven ability to apply structured methods to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively across teams and with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in transcription, content editing, or digital publishing.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards for digital learning materials.
  • Understanding of data and digital practices within government or large organisations.
Required Software Skills:
  • Microsoft SharePoint
o Experience uploading, organising, and managing content libraries.
o Ability to create and maintain pages, document libraries, and metadata tagging.
o Understanding of permissions, version control, and accessibility features.
  • Microsoft Office Suite
o Proficient in Word (for transcription and formatting), PowerPoint (for presentation materials), and Excel (for tracking and reporting).
  • Microsoft Teams
o Comfortable using Teams for collaboration, meetings, and file sharing.
  • OneNote or equivalent
o For note-taking and organising transcription drafts.
Hybrid: Customer requirement for potential Leeds Office attendance- to be discussed at interview.
