About the role

As part of our rapid growth in the EMEA region, we are looking for an experienced PMO lead to act as a focal point for Project Leadership in the region.

The role will be based from one of our UK offices, but we do operate a hybrid working environment, which provides opportunity to work from any of our other UK offices and from home

As PMO Lead, this role will play a leading and integral part in the strategy development and implementation of Project Management Services (consisting of Project Directors, Project Management, Planning, Information Management, Delivery Transformation) on large and complex projects across all sectors.

With responsibility for project delivery, the role is suited to a target driven, commercially aware leader, who is able to develop client opportunities as well as oversee the delivery of successful and profitable projects.

Working closely with colleagues from cross-functional teams and other regions, you will develop an environment that supports successful project delivery and results in value for our clients.

Core responsibilities

Project delivery

  • Lead the growth and capability development of the PMO (and other PMs and PDs) in region, to improve the efficiency, capability and success rate of on time, on budget delivery of projects across all sectors
  • Develop the principles, structure and tools to support effective project delivery and enhance project leadership, whilst aligning to GHD\'s corporate approach
  • Actively coach and develop the PMO Team leaders and Project Directors in the region
  • Work with UK People Leader and GHD Business School to enhance and establish learning platforms/channels that continue to develop technical professional\'s skills and capabilities for the future
  • Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration within the PMO and across the different Economic Regions, ensuring best practice is shared and lessons learnt.
  • Ensure the PMO implements appropriate procurement, supplier, contract management mechanisms, and financial control mechanisms where applicable
  • Adopt the role of Project Director and taking accountability for the P+L on strategically important projects ensuring delivery to Gross Margin targets
  • Review and develop improved business and project management systems to enhance operational business practices
  • Review of project proposals and delivery strategy in relation to work winning and tendering opportunities
  • Carry out Project Reviews with Project Directors and Project Managers in the PMO, providing advice and proactively managing project issues.
  • Contribute to the development of capability, and business development, in various strategically identified market sectors, as well as supporting work winning to develop these areas of the business.
  • Supporting and contribute to wider Operating Centre business development initiatives and actively participate in raising the profile of GHD through your technical expertise and client networking opportunities
