We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Family Solicitor to join us as Head of Department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to lead and grow our Family Law team, with a strong focus on privately paying matters alongside Legal Aid Agency (LAA) funded work.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience across both private and family law matters, with a specific interest in finance and private children work. We are looking for someone who wants to shape and lead a thriving department.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Family Law department, ensuring excellent client care and compliance with regulatory standards.
Handle a caseload comprising predominantly LAA-funded matters and a smaller caseload of privately paying cases.
Focus primarily on private children law matters (residence, contact, relocation, etc.), excluding DV-focused work.
Supervise and support junior team members, ensuring consistent quality and development.
Play an active role in business development and client relationship management.
Liaise with external partners, referral networks, and professional bodies to maintain and build client base.

Requirements
Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' PQE in Family Law.
Panel membership (e.g., Resolution or Family Law Panel).
Strong experience in both LAA and privately paying family law matters.
Demonstrable track record of managing private children law cases.
Experience supervising junior solicitors or legal staff.
Clear understanding of LAA billing, compliance, and cost control.
Ability to work independently and contribute strategically to department growth.
