Purpose of the role & how you will contribute:
You will work with the NFU Cymru Policy team preparing briefings, responding to consultations, managing self-contained projects and undertaking policy and communications work across agricultural, environment, rural affairs and parliamentary matters.
What you'll bring:
You will have a passion for agriculture and want to deliver good quality work on behalf of our farmer and grower members. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work well within a team and under your own initiative. You will need to be able to work quickly under pressure and calmly to a consistently high standard.

This means developing strong relationships with all our stakeholders and supporting our members through our network of local offices.
Policy
This team takes an active role in developing and influencing the policies that benefit farming businesses in Wales and across the UK. This means keeping up to date with and responding to national and international developments, engaging with and advising NFU Cymru members, and putting their decisions into action.
It's exciting, complex work, covering every area of farming and dealing with a range of stakeholders, from government ministers, civil servants and the media, to local NFU Cymru branches. The sheer variety of our work means you can be involved in a wide range of projects from initial research to policy delivery. Our collaborative approach means you'll find plenty of opportunities to build your knowledge - it's up to you to take them.
