Ofgem is Great Britain's independent energy regulator. We're at the forefront of change across the energy sector, driving toward Net Zero whilst protecting energy consumers - especially vulnerable people.

We're offering a permanent opportunity with significant visibility, influence, and the chance to help drive long-term change across one of the most high-profile areas of energy reform. This role offers exposure to complex and system-critical work at the intersection of policy, economics and energy system design, with opportunities to collaborate across government, the system operator and industry. You'll play a key part in shaping reform options at a pivotal time in the national energy conversation.###

Job description

This is a fast-moving and technically rich area that requires big-picture thinking, strategic insight, and confidence in navigating evolving stakeholder landscapes. You'll have the chance to work alongside experts and engage in discussions that shape policy across the wider electricity system. You'll have scope to apply your skills across a broad portfolio in the future, aligned to your expertise and interests.

We're looking for someone with a broad understanding of the energy sector, strong analytical instincts and a strategic approach to policy. You'll be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, synthesising complex information and helping ensure judgements are underpinned by thoughtful and well-evidenced insight. This is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking team where your contributions will be valued and your impact tangible.

You'll benefit from hybrid working, a supportive and inclusive culture, and access to a generous benefits package alongside work that is challenging, rewarding and aligned with a mission that really matters.

We have a critical purpose to support the government's Review of Electricity Market Arrangements (REMA) and ensure that future market designs unlock a low-carbon system that delivers for consumers. This is an opportunity to be part of a complex, nationally significant reform agenda at the heart of the UK's energy future. Read on and find out more.
