Politics Newsletter EditorLocation:LondonDepartment:The TimesSalary Range:Not Specified**Advertising End Date:**11 May 2025**Politics newsletter editor**The Times is looking for an experienced political journalist to oversee our award-winning newsletter.The successful candidate will be part of our parliamentary team based in Westminster.They will need the ability to find humour in the everyday while also digging out regular exclusives that can be used in the newsletter, on the website and in the paper.The politics newsletter editor is responsible for writing, editing and publishing our daily politics newsletter. They will write news and analysis for The Times and also make regular appearances on Times Radio.Apply with a covering letter and your CV by May 11.**Responsibilities**+ Editing and publishing our daily politics newsletter, working with colleagues from across the Times as part of the lobby team+ Ensuring the newsletter retains its status as one of The Times's best-performing newsletters+ Have a strong knowledge of social media and an ability to use it to increase readership and engagement+ Collaborate with production colleagues in design, pictures and sub-editing on elements that enhance our political newsletter content+ Build and maintain excellent contacts across all political parties and land exclusive stories+ Represent The Times on radio, television and other media, especially our internal stations+ Work with the Times political team on political news and analysis, and work on longer-term projects**Skills and experience**+ Experience working as a political journalist for a national newspaper or major digital news organisation+ Excellent political knowledge and an understanding of key political, social and economic trends+ Interest in digital storytelling across a range of platforms, including text, audio, video and data-based interactives+ Able to work autonomously and to strict deadlines, while maintaining high standards+ Excellent presentation skills and able to communicate succinctly and effectively+ A strong understanding of editorial compliance and regulatory issuesIf you believe you have the skills and passion to succeed, even if you don't meet every requirement on the list, we encourage you to apply.
