About the Role

We are seeking a motivated

Portal Handler

to join our team and manage a caseload of fast track claims. This role requires strong claims handling and management skills, with a focus on client care, monitoring, and contributing to both individual and team fee income. You'll play a key part in the overall success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of Portal and Fast Track Personal Injury RTA Motorcycle claims, following MOJ process, PI Protocol, and CPR Rules. Handle inbound new claim notifications and enquiries, taking details to commence claims in line with NCT procedures. Carry out initial investigations, submit CNFs, and secure client instructions. Investigate liability and quantum using tools such as Lawtel and Kemp to provide fair, unbiased advice. Progress cases efficiently, ensuring clients receive timely, professional, and balanced legal advice. Ensure compliance with Pre-Action Protocol and CPR requirements. Identify cases suitable for litigation and refer in line with the firm's Litigation Referral Process. Negotiate settlements with a commercial approach while maintaining unbiased client advice. Liaise with third parties including medical agencies, experts, and insurers to proactively progress cases. Attend court hearings where appropriate, instructing Barristers when necessary. Participate in weekly team meetings, training sessions, and bi-monthly one-to-ones. Achieve and exceed performance targets in a results-driven environment.
Knowledge & Experience

Background in handling motor claims and personal injury matters preferred; civil litigation experience considered. Experience managing your own caseload of Fast Track RTA Portal claims is highly advantageous. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Competent in case management systems, MS Office, and Outlook. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to delivering high-quality service to clients and the firm.

Desirable:

Qualified Solicitor (NQ or above) or CILEx Fellow/Chartered Legal Executive with practising rights.
