About the Role



As a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Lead, you will play a critical leadership role in developing and embedding best practice across our services in Lewisham and Croydon. You'll be responsible for:

Conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBAs) and Behavioural Risk Assessments for children and young people. Designing and implementing individualised Positive Behaviour Support Plans that are trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, and co-produced with the child and their support network. Supporting the Registered Manager, staff teams and wider clinical/education teams in understanding the function of behaviours and developing proactive, person-centred strategies. Delivering in-house training and coaching for staff on PBS principles, attachment-aware care, and therapeutic de-escalation techniques. Monitoring the effectiveness of behaviour support strategies and making necessary adjustments based on outcomes and feedback. Promoting a culture of reflection, empathy, and consistency within the home. Contributing to EHCP reviews, safeguarding plans, and multidisciplinary team meetings.

What We're Looking For



We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and proactive professional who is passionate about children's & young people mental health and behavioural support:

Minimum 3 years' experience supporting children and young people with complex needs and EBD Qualification in PBS, Health & Social Care, SEN, or Psychology (minimum Level 3; Level 5 desirable) Demonstrable experience in Functional Behaviour Assessments and developing support plans Strong knowledge of attachment, trauma, neurodiversity, and therapeutic approaches Skilled in staff coaching, training delivery, and reflective practice facilitation Confident in working collaboratively with families, professionals, and external agencies A natural leader who is empathetic, organised, and solution-focused
