The Role
In this exciting and rewarding position, you will:
Direct Work with Children:
Conduct comprehensive Positive Behaviour Support assessments of children and young people
Develop personalised, evidence based care plans
Work hands-on with children to implement proactive support strategies
Provide crisis intervention and support when needed
Positive Behaviour Support Leadership & Development:
Coach and mentor staff on implementing Positive Behaviour Support approaches
Deliver training to embed Positive Behaviour Support principles across our children's homes and school
Lead Positive Behaviour Support best practice initiatives, driving improvements in outcomes
Work collaboratively with our therapy team and external professionals
Caseload Management:
Oversee a flexible caseload across our School and Children's Homes in Wingrave
Provide specialist support to settings in Leighton Buzzard and St Albans
Work in tandem with our Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, School Nurses, Other Positive Behaviour Support Specialists, Intensive Interactions mentor and external services.
About You
Essential Experience:
Direct hands-on experience supporting children with learning disabilities and/or autism
Understanding of person-centred approaches and positive support strategies
Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring abilities
Collaborative mindset with confidence to lead Positive Behaviour Support practice positively
Full driving licence and access to own vehicle
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
Positive Behaviour Support qualification (Level 5 or postgraduate) OR willingness to study towards Level 5 qualification
Experience in functional assessment and behaviour analysis
Training delivery experience or enthusiasm to develop these skills
Background in education, social care, healthcare, or support work with children who have learning disabilities

Teachers or teaching assistants with hands-on SEND experience working with children who have learning disabilities
Social workers or healthcare professionals with direct experience working with children who have learning disabilities
