Post Office Retail Assistant

Lurgan MAIN Post Office, Market Street Lurgan

We are moving location to 15 Market Street, Lurgan and therefore require a new team member to join our current team.

Part Time Role - 25-29 hours per week, weekdays and Saturday work. Tuesday 9.00am-5.30pm, Wednesday 9.30am-5.30pm, Thursday 9.00am-5.30pm and every other Saturday 9.00am-1.00pm. These hours and days are provisional and may be subject to change.

Full flexibility throughout the rest of the week will be required for holiday cover.

No evening or Sunday work.

Role:

As this position will involve regular contact with customers, good communication skills are essential. Applicants must have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure. You will need the ability to communicate easily and effectively with customers and match our products to their needs. A genuine enthusiasm for delivering exceptional customer service, while driving sales of our innovative products and services is essential.

This role involves;

Greeting and building a strong rapport with our customers, highlighting the benefits of our products and services. Utilising sales opportunities by generating customer referrals and appointments as appropriate. Working as an integral part of a team, being flexible and adapting the way that you work, understanding how you contribute towards the overall financial success of the branch. Processing our wide range of transactions and balancing both monies and stock with a high degree of accuracy and compliance to our branch standards. Provide advice to customers to ensure that they select the right product that meets the needs of the customer, e.g. Mails, Travel Money etc. Responsible for ensuring compliance with any specific legislative, regulatory, or contractual requirements.
Criteria:

Desirable criteria:

Previous experience in a Post Office branch is desirable but not essential as full training can be provided.
Essential criteria:

Previous experience in a customer service role with cash handling experience. Exceptional time management skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
