Grade 7: Salary in the range of 38,674-39,749 per annum


This is a full time, fixed term position for 24 months.



We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Research Assistant to participate in a research project in the Biophysical Immunology (www.bpi-oxford.com) Lab led by Professor Marco Fritzsche as part of an MRC Standard Grant.

In this role, you will manage your own academic research and administrative activities, including small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You will adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques and experimental methods, as well as contribute ideas for new research projects. You will use specialist scientific equipment and act as a source of information and advice to other BPI team members. You will collaborate in the preparation of scientific reports, journal articles, and present papers and posters locally and at national and international conferences, as well as participate in MRC grant's research programme led by Prof Marco Fritzsche.

You must hold a relevant PhD/DPhil (or be near completion), together with relevant experience in immunology relevant disciplines and have expertise in T cell biology, immunology, cancer biology, metabolics, and mitochondria biology. You will also have expertise in ZEISS LLSM, ZEISS Elyra, ZEISS 980 confocal, PicoQuant FLIM, PicoQuant Luminosa, and bioimage analysis of fluorescence microscopy images. You must have the ability to manage your own academic research and associated activities together with the ability to contribute ideas for new research projects and research income generation. Experience of independently managing a discrete area of a research project and collaborating in the development of research articles for publication is desirable
