We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in aquaculture genome to contribute to research elucidating the functional basis of disease resistance in aquaculture species.
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a postdoctoral research fellow to perform both in vitro and in vitro CRISPR / Cas9 genome editing experiments aimed at increasing resistance to pathogens in aquaculture species. The post is within Dr Tim Beans research group at The Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh.
The successful candidate will be expected to have a PhD or be near to completing a PhD in a related field (i.e. molecular and cellular biology, immunology), and will have experience in genome editing using CRISPR/Cas systems. This post will offer the opportunity to work in the rapidly developing field of aquaculture genetics and genomics. The successful candidate will have the chance to collaborate with leading researchers in the field and to present results at international meetings and conferences.
This post is on a fixed-term basis for 18 months.
The salary for this post is 41,064 to 48,882 per annum.
