The Opportunity:
This is a chance to join the dynamic research group of Prof. Katrin Ottersbach and work on a project focused on understanding the unique biology of infant leukaemia with a view to developing new therapeutic targets for this devastating disease. The lab is located in the Centre for Regenerative Medicine within the Institute for Regeneration and Repair at the world-class University of Edinburgh and provides a stimulating research environment with access to cutting-edge technology and expertise in a wide range of stem cell and disease models.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
The salary for this post is xc2xa340,497 to xc2xa348,149 per annum, pro rata if part time.
Your skills and attributes for success:

• A PhD (or to be completed within 3 months of interview date) and experience in the field of developmental haematopoiesis and leukaemia
• Ability to conduct and independently drive a lab-based research project at a postdoctoral level
• Excellent planning and communication skills
• Contribution to a productive research group environment
• Experience in human foetal haematopoiesis and/or cancer research models

About the Team:
IRR (Director: Prof Stuart Forbes) has a 5-year income of over xc2xa3200M and supports over 800 staff and 200 students within a collaborative hub for commercial, clinical and academic endeavour. We are based on the Edinburgh Bioquarter campus. Our three main centres are the Centre for Reproductive Health (CRH), the Centre for Regenerative Medicine (CRM), and the Centre for Inflammation Research (CIR). Bringing together world leading research expertise to drive understanding and deliver clinical and translational outcomes. IRR contains staff and students from two colleges (CMVM and CSE) and 4 Schools add to the complexity of the role.
