Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen environment. This position is essential for ensuring that food preparation areas are kept tidy and that all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.

Duties

Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the chefs, ensuring all ingredients are ready for cooking. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans, as well as cleaning surfaces and equipment. Ensure that all kitchen utensils and equipment are stored correctly after cleaning. Support chefs during service by helping with basic cooking tasks or plating when required. Dispose of waste properly and ensure recycling practices are followed. Assist in receiving deliveries and storing food items appropriately. Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is highly desirable. Basic food preparation skills and knowledge of cooking techniques. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils. Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff. A passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering high-quality service. Ability to follow instructions accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
