About the roleDo you want to be at the forefront of one of the world's most ambitious sustainability initiatives?Balfour Beatty have created iconic buildings and infrastructure all over the world over the past 115 years redefining excellence and setting the industry benchmark with every project.As a result, alongside several consortium partners; Balfour Beatty have been selected by BP (British Petroleum) to construct a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage which is a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK's first decarbonised industrial cluster.Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic and experienced Planning Engineer BI Data Analyst to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside project based at our new site in Redcar, Teesside.What you'll be doingWe are seeking a talented and motivated data analyst to join our digital team. The
successful candidate will play a crucial role in analysing and optimising our project operations ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across site and through all levels of the supply chain. The role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and PowerBI and the ability to translate data into actionable insights and management reporting. A sound knowledge of programming language and technologies is desired.As a BI Data Analyst you will:

  • Work with supply chain partners at a micro level to standardise data sets
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using PowerBI to provide real-time
insights to stakeholders across various levels of the organization
  • Utilise Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the project teams to understand their data needs and provide support in decision-making processes.
  • Create and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports to track performance against targets.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of data-driven strategies to optimise operations.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management in a clear and concise manner.
  • Document and present project performance measures and reports, both internal and external
  • Stay up to date on the latest innovations and what competitors are implem
Who we're looking forEssential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within construction or supply chain management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, macros, and data analysis functions.
  • Strong experience with PowerBI, including creating dashboards, reports, and data
visualisation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks within a fixed timeline.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with logistics and supply chain processes is highly desirable.
  • Ability to translate complex data into meaningful reporting to drive data informed decision-making
Desirable Experience:
  • Experience in the Construction industry.
  • Demonstrable experience with data analytics tools and software
  • Programming language skills in either Python, JavaScript, Java, C or SQL
