WHAT TO EXPECT

We are actively in pursuit of an accomplished Powertrain Certification Manager, poised to play a pivotal role in advancing our Planning and Delivery function.

This individual will be responsible for planning, delivering and programme managing the Powertrain testing that supports Fuel Economy, Emissions, EV Range, Power and NAS OBD certification.

You will be at the forefront of Powertrain Certification activities. Your mission? To ensure that for every vehicle programme, the test activity required for Powertrain certification is fully resourced, planned and delivered.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Certification Programme Leaders providing support, insight and management.
  • Accountable for end-to-end planning, delivery and programme management of all Powertrain certification test activities
  • Lead the Daily Certification Review ensuring that vehicles are prioritised correctly via the kanban board with any blockers flagged and escalated as required
  • Deliver projects with full cross-functional engagement and stakeholder management ensuring achievement of the required timescale and quality
  • Influence and guide cross-functional teams to prioritise and deliver Powertrain certification key enablers such as calibration, software, road loads etc. to meet PCDS timing
  • Provide the critical link between market requirements, programme requirements, and test resources i.e. facility capacity, authority capacity, and test properties (vehicles / engines)
  • Provide management KPI reporting and risk analysis of performance against agreed programme timing and use the output to steer tactical and strategic actions
  • Participate in reviews for future product and existing product change requests to ensure that Powertrain certification is considered and accounted for during timing development
  • Be the single point of contact for expertise and guidance on Powertrain certification requirements and timing
  • Undertake and support scenario planning as required to determine certification contain ability, and be the interface into EP Strategy to review cycle plans and aid in complexity reduction
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Experience in managing programme and/ or process-related activities, ideally within the Automotive Industry
  • Extensive planning and project management skills
  • Clear and confident communicator both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Comprehensive MS Office experience
  • Experience in an automotive engineering environment, including knowledge of vehicle construction and systems
