WHAT TO EXPECT

This role is within the Powertrain Test Operations Team (E0-10) which is part of Engineering Operations.

JLR is continuing to invest in new Powertrain Testing capability to ensure the next generation of electrified vehicles can be developed in house. With the creation of the Propulsion Delivery Centre JLR has laid the base for future development and the investment into the facility continues to grow. This role is to lead the team of specialist engineers to deliver the next generation of testing capability.

The role is to manage the delivery of a team delivering the next generation of projects required to validate and develop current and future Powertrain systems. This role is leading a team of project managers and project specialists to deliver projects ranging from \xc2\xa3100k - \xc2\xa330M covering all disciplines from civil works to complex test systems ensuring projects are adequately resourced and managed to key deliverables and KPI\'s. Quality, cost and timing are the key targets for the delivery of the required facilities to meet the demanding JLR cycle plan. Many of the technologies being delivered will be for the first time in the business, so a strong willingness to learn and adapt will be a key attribute of the successful candidate.

The team is comprised of a team of project managers leading the delivery, linked with a number of specialist engineers focussed on the delivery of specific elements of the project to ensure complex deliveries are understood and realised.

As part of this exciting role you will be working very closely alongside a PMO office covering the governance and financial control as well as the small works team. There is also a separate team of Technical Specialists who will support with the implementation of works, design and assist where needed with delivery issues both of which are managed by existing employees.

WHAT YOU\'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Accountable for end to end ownership and delivery of project workstreams.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team to assess proposed function, feature and performance alternatives
  • Work within a cross-functional team to ensure robust delivery
  • Develop through engineering and training to deliver to programs on time, quality and cost
  • Meet and define the delivery targets created in the specification phase
  • Build, maintain and manage relationships with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver robust project plans showing requirements for finance, legislation and H&S
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested
WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

Essential :
  • Suitable qualifications preferably at degree level, or demonstratable experience led development.
  • Project Management Qualification to a recognised industry standard.
  • Demonstratable and in-depth knowledge of occupational health and environmental management systems.
  • Demonstratable experience and knowledge in managing projects to meet the legislative standards appropriate and specifically CDM 2015.
  • Define and set work streams based on risk-based prioritisation.
  • Proven supervisory / management experience.
  • Experience of coordination of multifunctional teams
  • Clear and confident communicator both orally and in writing
  • Comprehensive MS office experience
  • Ability to mentor and train others
  • A full UK Driving Licence with less than 6 penalty points, no disqualifications and 2 years accident free record.
