The School of Justice Studies within is looking to appoint a PQiP Academic Programme Manager/ Senior Lecturer to deliver on the Professional Programme in Probation (PQiP).


This role is 0.5 fte and is fixed term to September 2027 with potential for extension. The programme is an externally funded programme and the team work in partnership with the Ministry of Justice, His Majesty's Prison and Probation Service and the regional areas that it has responsibility for. It is important therefore that you must have demonstrable experience of working in the Probation Service or in a related field such as Social Work and be able to evidence how you have worked with stakeholders in the past.


The role will require the delivery and oversight of the PQiP programme and the modules that learners are required to engage with. As such, along with the above professional experience it is important that candidates have experience of working and leading on projects within an education setting and it is desirable that this is in a Higher Education setting.


The key components of the programme focus on risk, rehabilitation, professional practice, values and ethics and more broadly the Criminal Justice System as a whole. The programme is delivered using a blended learning approach and evidence of the ability to design, structure and curate a virtual learning environment that is engaging and inclusive is key. You will be expected to make contributions to the academic work of the school and its scholarship/research profile and civic engagement agenda.
