We're now looking for an Accounts Assistant or newly qualified Accountant to join our growing team. You'll be part of a forward-thinking practice that embraces innovation, values integrity, and takes pride in doing things the right way, for both our clients and our colleagues.

As part of the wider TaxAssist network, you'll also have access to additional training, resources and national conferences, but it's our local culture that makes this role truly special.

The Opportunity



This is an exciting time to join us as we continue to expand and help clients prepare for Making Tax Digital.
You'll work across our four local offices, giving you plenty of variety and exposure to a wide range of clients. Once you've settled in, you'll have flexibility to choose your preferred locations.

What You'll Do



Your work will be varied and rewarding, including:

Preparing Self Assessment Tax Returns for landlords, higher-rate taxpayers and sole traders Preparing accounts for sole traders and partnerships Handling bookkeeping and VAT returns for a portfolio of clients Managing payroll and pension processing Supporting clients with Making Tax Digital bookkeeping, reviews and submissions Assisting with Let Property Campaigns and 60-day Capital Gains Tax Returns Liaising with HMRC on various client matters Helping clients prepare for MTD, from initial discussions to software setup and registration
Those joining at a more senior level will also review work completed by others, meet with prospective clients and support the ongoing development of our systems and processes.

About You



We're looking for someone who brings both skill and personality to the team.
You'll need:

Recent and relevant experience in an accountancy practice (essential) A qualification such as AAT (or working towards it). ACCA or similar also welcomed Confidence managing your own workload and meeting deadlines Strong IT and problem-solving skills A friendly and professional manner with both colleagues and clients The ability to work independently while following established processes
