An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly and supportive team at Woodcote Medical. The post holder will work primarily in the Administrative Team, but will provide cover and support to the Reception team when needed.
This is a permanent position. The working pattern required is detailed below, however flexibility is required for covering annual leave and sickness absences.

Main duties of the job
You should be experienced in delivering excellent customer service, maintaining professionalism, discretion and confidentiality at all times and able to work well under pressure both independently, and as part of a team.
The main duties of the role will be read-coding relevant information into patients' healthcare records, assisting with patient registration and the processing of information in a timely manner.
You will work across our surgeries in Purley and Coulsdon and will provide cover for the Reception team when needed. This will involve greeting and directing patients, booking appointments and assisting patients as required.
Full training will be given but Medical Administration and Receptionist experience in a similar environment would be advantageous.

To support the Practice and GPs by implementing document management optimisation protocols for all documentation coming into the Practice. To also support with the administration of prescription requests and provide support to the patient services team when required:
To read, scan, code and action all documentation coming into the Practice in relation to patients in line with the set protocol for document management
To ensure actions are completed by clinicians in a timely manner and to escalate to the Practice /Operations Manager or Administration Lead where appropriate
To arrange further appointments or tests as required (and within the postholder's remit) that are specified from either the documentation or requested by the clinician
To report any significant events that occur in relation to document management and participate in any associated learning from incidents.
To support the administration of prescription requests coming into the Practice
To provide telephone Receptionist support in line with an established rota
To provide Reception cover in times of staff shortage as requested by the Practice Manager/Assistant Practice Manager
To attend any training required to maintain effective performance in this role
Any other duties as requested by the Practice /Operations Manager or Administration Lead or Partners that are deemed to be reasonable and within the capabilities of the postholder.
The postholder has no day-to-day line management responsibility and does not directly manage any members of staff.

Support administration/patient services team, providing cover during planned and unplanned absences
There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.
