Your Role and What You\'ll Be Doing

We\xe2\x80\x99re currently recruiting for a Practice Development Lawyer (PDL) to support the Knowledge Management activities in our Banking and Finance team. This role is home based (with travel to our various offices as required) but you are also welcome to work out of any of our offices in line with our Flexible by Choice approach. We are ideally looking for someone part-time (4 days a week) but can be flexible for the right candidate.

Our Banking and Finance Team has substantial experience in banking and debt finance transactions across a wide range of sectors. The Team regularly advises banks, funders and borrowers on real estate finance, leveraged finance and corporate banking transactions.

What You\'ll Be Doing

Working as a Practice Development Lawyer, you\xe2\x80\x99ll play a key role in contributing to Knowledge Management initiatives and projects in your practice area, ensuring relevant and up to date legal knowledge is easily available to support our teams in their day to day legal work, supporting client/relationship retention and contributing to business winning activity. You\xe2\x80\x99ll also contribute to a number of our firm wide knowledge management activities, representing your practice area and helping to shape our processes and services, and supporting the implementation our Knowledge Strategy.

About You

As a practising lawyer, it\xe2\x80\x99s important that you have an interest in knowledge management and information, and are keen to undertake horizon scanning; keeping up-to-date with any legal developments and helping others to understand these changes and how they can be implemented firm wide. Ideally, it would be great if you had experience working as part of a project team, but this isn\xe2\x80\x99t essential.

Given the nature of the role, it\xe2\x80\x99s essential that you hold a current Practising Certificate. You may already have experience arranging and delivering technical training and helping to draft articles and other communications which can be shared with our clients and the wider market to promote Irwin Mitchell. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be an effective communicator so you can work well with all our colleagues, as well as being able to articulate opinions and ideas clearly and objectively.

This role would be a fantastic opportunity for an experienced lawyer at Associate level or above looking to transition in to a PDL role.
