Bearl Equine Clinic is a 6 vet first opinion and referral clinic with a focus on leading diagnostic imaging and lameness investigation. The clinic has advanced imaging capabilities and a surgical theatre suite with advanced surgical certificate holder on site and a reputation for excellence. We are currently looking for a practice manager to replace the current PM who is approaching retirement.
The position demands experience in a supportive leadership role, with an understanding of employee strengths and support with areas for development. Being able to contribute and support the practice to continue to make it a great place to work while being able to tackle difficult people and situations with confidence and sensitivity.
The practice thrives on its reputation for the quality of its service and the post holder will be quality driven with a keen understanding of how to enhance that client experience. A thorough understanding and ability to negotiate in both written and verbal communications to enable effective resolution and maintain excellent client relationships.
In addition, the postholder will have some understanding of management accounts and basic accounting processes, have a good eye for accuracy and maintain day to day financial reconciliation, bank deposits and payment allocation. Some understanding of budget management and contribution to strategic planning for growth is desirable. Regular comparison, evaluation and systematic review of fees against competitors and market forces to ensure realistic value is maintained. Processing creditor invoices through central office and maintaining a reliable transaction history.
The post holder will be a pragmatic, approachable and collaborative member of the management team. A proactive listener with a calm and resilient temperament who can find solutions to problems on multiple levels when there may be a conflict of interest.
There is a need for technical awareness of the veterinary industry including legislation and codes of practice, clinical function and practice standard protocols.
Hours are flexible, a minimum of 30 hours would be required, more hours would be available by negotiation.
