About Us

Fairfield Surgery is a small, friendly, rural medical practice with a patient list of 4,200.

We are now seeking a motivated and experienced Practice Nurse to join our team and help deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. We have a team of 2 GP partners, 1 salaried GP, 1 enhanced practice nurse,1 lead practice nurse, 1 phlebotomist plus an experienced friendly team of administrators and dispensers.

About the Role

This is a permanent position covering 3 full days per week. Salary is dependent on experience.

As a Practice Nurse, you'll provide comprehensive nursing care, supporting the delivery of safe and effective services in line with national guidance and local priorities. Your key focus areas will include:

Immunisations and vaccinations Wound care and dressings Screening (cervical, NHS health checks, and other national programmes) Long-term condition reviews (e.g. diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension) Health promotion and disease prevention
You'll also contribute to nursing KPIs, clinical audits, and CQC compliance, while supporting our continuous improvement ethos across all sites.

Key Responsibilities

Provide patient appointments across a range of nursing services Maintain accurate clinical documentation using EMIS Web Undertake infection control checks, cold chain monitoring, and stock management Contribute to QOF, enhanced services, and national immunisation targets Participate in practice audits, safety reviews, and quality improvement projects Provide ad hoc support to flu clinics.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Registered Nurse with primary care or community experience Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to provide cover for holiday/sickness

Desirable:

Experience with EMIS Web Interest in practice development and quality improvement
