Lead Practice Nurse / GP Partners / Practice Management
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our supportive and forward-thinking team. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary group of healthcare professionals, delivering exceptional care across treatment, prevention, and health promotion services.
This role involves a wide variety of responsibilities, including direct patient care, health screenings, immunisations, chronic disease support, and contributing to the ongoing development of services.

Key Responsibilities
Treatment Room Duties
Perform dressings, compression bandaging, removal of clips/sutures.
Administer routine injections, adult and child immunisations (in line with PGDs).
Ear irrigation, travel health consultations, and flu vaccinations.
Collect, label, store and dispatch pathological specimens.
Maintain treatment rooms and equipment to clinical standards.
Health Promotion & Screening
Provide targeted health education for heart disease, cancer risk, and chronic illness prevention.
Participate in screening programmes and campaigns aligned with national and local health priorities.
Chronic Disease & Family Planning Support
Assist in managing long-term conditions in collaboration with GPs.
Support patients with family planning and sexual health services.
Safeguarding & Risk Assessment
Identify and escalate concerns related to vulnerable adults, child protection, domestic violence, and other safeguarding issues.
Administrative & Professional Duties
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records (Systmone).
Support data collection for QOF and enhanced services.
Participate in audits, research, and quality improvement projects.
Engage in team meetings, continuing professional development (CPD), and clinical supervision.
Requirements
Qualified Registered Nurse with NMC registration.
Experience in a Primary Care or General Practice setting is preferred (but not essential).
Knowledge of immunisation schedules, chronic disease management, and treatment room protocols.
Strong communication, clinical judgement, and documentation skills.
Ability to self-motivate, work independently, and prioritise workload.
Commitment to working within the NMC Code of Conduct and evidence-based practice.
Desirable Skills (Training Can Be Provided)
Cytology (smear testing)
Childhood immunisations
Travel health consultations and vaccinations
Chronic disease management (e.g., asthma, diabetes, COPD)
Experience using Systmone
