Job Summary:



Join our compassionate team as a Practice Nurse in our Gender Clinic, where you will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare services to individuals seeking gender-affirming care. As an integral member of our interdisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals exploring their gender identity or undergoing gender transition.

Responsibilities:



1. Patient Assessment and Care:



Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients' physical and mental health needs related to gender identity and transition.

2. Treatment Planning:



Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop personalised treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and goals.

3. Hormone Therapy Management:



Administer hormone therapy treatments as prescribed by clinicians, monitor patients for side effects, and provide education on medication administration and potential risks.

4. Patient Education:



Offer comprehensive education and support to patients and their families regarding gender identity, transition-related healthcare, and available resources.

5. Support Services:



Coordinate referrals to support services, including mental health counselling, support groups, and community resources, to ensure patients have access to comprehensive care.

6. Documentation and Reporting:



Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, documenting patient assessments, treatments, and progress according to clinic protocols and regulatory requirements.

7. Cultural Competency:



Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and competence in providing care to individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those within the LGBTQIA+ community.

8. Quality Improvement:



Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of gender-affirming care and ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Skills



Current licence as a Registered Nurse Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Strong written communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centred approach. Commitment to providing compassionate, nonjudgmental care in a supportive and affirming environment. Experience or training in hormone therapy and transgender healthcare is preferred. Ability to work as part of a collaborative healthcare team. Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and confidentiality. Cultural competence and sensitivity to the needs of diverse patient populations. Willingness to engage in ongoing education and training related to transgender healthcare.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 36,000.00-38,000.00 per year
