We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and caring practice nurse to join our friendly practice team on a permanent basis.
Cuckfield Medical Practice is a split-site GP Practice providing care to 13,000 patients in the Haywards Heath area. We are a large friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team of GPs, nurses, allied clinicians and skilled, experienced administrators. We are a progressive and supportive training Practice looking for a like-minded Practice Nurse who enjoys a challenge, is forward thinking and passionate about primary care.
HOURS:
Flexible for the right candidate - ideally 25-30 hrs per week
PAY:
We pay a competitive salary and as we are currently open to considering nurses with a range of capabilities, the exact rate will be discussed dependent on experience, capability and the procedures performed.
Main duties of the job:
We would love to welcome a highly motivated, positive and friendly practice nurse to our diverse team, who could help maintain our high standards of clinical care with a strong patient centred focus in a highly supportive environment. We are a popular training practice for doctors and other allied health care practitioners, which allows us to provide experienced supervision and would enable you to progress and develop your role within the practice. Experience in nursing is essential but a knowledge of chronic diseases and experience in staff management is desirable. The role is varied and covers all aspects of general practice nursing including:
? Wound care and compression bandaging
? Removal of sutures
? Diabetes
? ECGs
? Asthma/Spirometry
? Blood pressure measurements
? Routine immunisations including childhood immunisations & flu clinics
? Cervical smears, vaginal swabs
Applicants must have current UK professional registration. The individual will work within the NMC Code of Conduct to agreed practice standards and protocols as well as supporting the clinical team with all safeguarding matters, in accordance with local and national policies. The successful candidate will be comfortable accepting responsibility and working autonomously but must have good communication and IT skills, the ability to prioritise, and be able to work as part of a team.
Requirements and Qualifications
