Practice Nurse
to join our supportive multidisciplinary team.
Summary
We are seeking a Practice Nurse to join our team at The Ingham Practice. This vital role involves delivering high-quality nursing care, supporting patient health, and contributing to our practice's commitment to excellence in primary healthcare.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Providing routine nursing care including immunisations, vaccinations, and cervical screening
Undertaking
asthma reviews and checks
, including inhaler technique assessment and personalised self-management plans
Managing and reviewing
long-term clinical conditions
such as asthma, COPD, diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease in line with NICE and QOF requirements
Supporting and assisting with
minor surgery procedures
, including:
Preparing patients and clinical areas
Assisting clinicians during procedures
Post-procedure wound care, dressings, and patient advice
Chronic disease monitoring, treatment reviews, and patient education
Wound care, dressings, removal of sutures, and treatment room duties
Health promotion, lifestyle advice, and disease prevention
Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records using the practice clinical system
Working collaboratively with GPs, HCAs, pharmacists, and the wider primary care team
Essential Requirements
Registered Nurse (NMC) with a valid PIN
Experience working as a Practice Nurse or in a primary care setting
Competence in managing long-term conditions, including asthma
Ability to assist with minor surgery activities in line with infection control and clinical governance standards
Evidence of continued professional development
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Desirable
Asthma and/or COPD management qualification
Chronic disease management qualifications
Cervical cytology qualification
Experience in minor surgery clinics
Experience using EMIS or SystmOne
