About us

The Grantham Practice is a medium sized practice with 2 partners and around 9000 ethnically and socioeconomically diverse patients, with a large contingent of Portuguese patients.

We have a multidisciplinary team made up of GPs, a nurse, a HCA, a Pharmacist, a Phlebotomist, and more. Our current nurse works part time on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday and we are looking for another nurse to join our team and help us to increase our nursing offer.

We are located less than 5 minutes walk from Stockwell underground station. We have a strong ethos of maintaining the traditional values of general practice, and we receive consistently positive feedback from patients, with good access to appointments.

We are a friendly and social team (we just came back from our away day/night in Brighton!)

The job

We are looking for a friendly, motivated nurse to join our team working either part-time or full-time. Our priority is to secure nursing hours on a Tuesday and Thursday (we are flexible on start and finish times), however we would be open to a nurse who would like to work more than two days and would be flexible for anything from 2-5 days cover.

What we are looking for

Essential -

Must be a registered nurse with a minimum of 2-years post-registration experience Minimum of 1 year recent primary care nursing experience Must have the following clinical skills: cervical cytology, dressing and wound care management, management of long-term conditions, adult and child vaccinations Awareness of clinical governance issues in primary care Accountability for own role and other roles in a nurse-led service Knowledge of health promotion and the needs of patients with long-term conditions Strong case management skills Written and verbal communication skills Ability to follow clinical guidelines Must work well independently and as part of a team
Desirable -

Experience of audit Mentor/teaching qualification Portuguese language skills Participation in quality improvement activity
