To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing to patients as well as providing support to the doctors and other members of the practice team. This post also includes minor ailments and prescribing. You will be working within a team which includes another Practice Nurse, and a health care assistant. The duties will include all tasks normally undertaken by an experience registered nurse, there will be additional roles agreed between the nurse and doctors as appropriate.
Job Responsibilities:
Cervical Screening
Chronic Disease Management
Immunisations & Vaccinations, including child & travel
Participate and guide positive outcomes for QOF, enhanced services etc.
Provide routine care to patients as required
Provide wound care
Maintain accurate clinical records
Develop, implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for acute and non-acute conditions via patient triage
Support the team in dealing with clinical emergencies
Liaise with external services/agencies to ensure the patient is supported appropriately
Support the clinical team with all safeguarding matters, in accordance with local and national policies
Understand organisation and local policies for substance abuse and addictive behaviours, referring patients appropriately
Monitor and ensure safe storage, rotation and disposal of vaccines and drugs
Provide clinical supervision for the nursing team
Maintain professional registration and adhere to revalidation requirements

Develop, implement and embed infection control policies and procedures. Provide specialist information to all staff on the management of infection control.
Educational:
Identify personal development and training needs in conjunction with the management team
Participate in clinical supervision
Support other with their training and development needs

Ensure up to date registration with appropriate bodies
